Objectives

We wanted to convey the cultural differences to the students, make them think and encourage them to act sustainably. Through workshops, seminars, and research units, we aimed to broaden their view in the above-mentioned areas and reveal unknown paths in the field of sustainability, inclusion, and non-discrimination. Through the creation of the digital products and the exchange via the schools' digital platforms, digital skills were trained and competencies expanded.

Background

We applied for this project because it is about building a partnership between the schools and the students. The focus was on the topic of "sustainable action", the recognition of similarities and differences between students who live in a large city and those who live in a rural area. By living, learning and working on the Burgerhof, the reality of the Welsberg students became tangible for the Cologne students. Likewise, by staying with host families in Cologne, the students from Welsberg were able to feel deeply into city life and gain experience together with their host children. Through the variety of encounters, central points such as the promotion of equality and non-discrimination, as well as inclusion and diversity could be experienced.
