Objectives

The expectations of individuals have undergone great changes with the development of mobilization, urbanization, industrialization, and technology in the early 19th century and after the First World War. This change and development has brought many benefits and has caused many losses. Previously, they used the public waste to feed animals, and old items were used as toys for children. The broken objects were repaired, and durable and precious items were transferred from generation to generation. This helped societies create their cyclical economies, saving societies by producing almost zero by saving resources both materially and energy. While so little waste is produced before industrialization; With industrialization, the number of waste accumulated in the world has been increasing day by day. It is the redesign of the welding life cycles in order to reuse all the products we use as recycling definition. The purpose of recycling ensures that waste does not go to landfills, incinerators, or to the ocean. Thus, it aims to make the wastes reusable. In this philosophy, the main idea is to re-evaluate every waste that comes out to be part of another cycle. With recycling, it is aimed to eliminate waste by reducing the volume and toxin ratio that covers in the world. It is inevitable that the population in the world will increase at the right rate with the increase in the consumption day by day. This situation increases the pressure on natural resources, disrupts the balance of the world, and cannot meet the increasing need for societies. According to the studies conducted by Willi Haas and colleagues, 4 billion tons of waste is recycled worldwide, but this amount is quite low compared to 41 million tons of production. The United Nations announced that 50 million tons of electronic waste is produced worldwide each year and its value is 62 billion dollars. It creates great problems economically and for our health and nature. According to the World Health Organization report, 1.7 million people get cancer every year due to unhealthy environmental conditions; 12.6 million people die from diseases related to environmental pollution. In our country, waste reduction studies are carried out within this scope. The World Bank stated that plastics that pollute our waterways and ecosystem for thousands of years make up 12% of all global waste. A lot of attention has been drawn to waste management in the recent past by taking measures on the basis of countries. Increasing knowledge of recycling among young people who took place in the project has gained them important qualifications to reduce the environmental pollution rate. With these ideas and data, we have adopted the idea of leaving a more livable world to the future by writing this project to reduce environmental pollution and support quality life. We should leave this world, which is our universal heritage in terms of international law, more livable to the future. In this context, the overall goal of our project was to increase the awareness of young people towards recycling and to expand the awareness of zero waste. Specific objectives were as follows: 1) To inform young people about the waste management 2) To increase the motivation and competence of young people on waste recycling 3) To gain the right waste classification skills for young people 4) To inform about the scope and results of environmental pollution 5) To raise awareness on recycling of products locally
