Objectives

With the implementation of the "Nature for Future" project, our aim at EU Aktivisten was to bridge the gap between young people and the natural environment, to inspire and empower them to take a proactive role in environmental protection and sustainability, and to connect them on a pan-European scale through the medium of photography. We envisaged the project as an opportunity to enable the youth of Europe to explore, understand, appreciate and document the natural world around them, thereby fostering a deeper connection with the environment and a stronger motivation to protect it. Our objectives, in line with the Erasmus+ programme and the specific needs of our project, were as follows: 1. Ignite Creativity and Initiative: Utilising photography as a creative and engaging method, we aimed to stimulate the spirit of initiative in young people, enhancing their creative capabilities and fostering an active role in environmental protection. 2. Leverage Photography as a Tool for Environmental Awareness: We sought to demonstrate the power of photography as an effective medium for not only documenting the beauty of the environment but also for promoting its protection and conservation. 3. Promote Ecological Awareness and Cultural Understanding: We desired to foster a better understanding of the ecological situation in different participant countries and develop a sense of ecological consciousness. We aimed to inspire a generation of young people who are not just aware of their environment but are also proactive in its preservation. 4. Campaign against Environmental Degradation: Through workshops and practical experiences, we aimed to equip young people with the knowledge and skills to campaign against climate change and environmental degradation in their own communities and countries. 5. Foster Collaboration and Influence: We intended to encourage the youth to further influence media in the topic of ecology, to promote European cooperation in the fight against climate change, and to inspire collective action through shared learning experiences. 6. Educate about Erasmus+ Opportunities: Our goal was to raise awareness about the possibilities that Erasmus+ offers to young people in terms of promoting environmental issues and fostering active citizenship. 7. Inspire Action through Skill Acquisition: Finally, we aimed to demonstrate through this project that by learning new skills and acquiring professional guidance, young people could not only create beautiful and impactful photographs but also use these images to inspire others to take action. In essence, the "Nature for Future" project was designed to not only enrich the young participants' skills and knowledge but also to serve as a catalyst for change, motivating a broader audience to preserve our natural environment for future generations. By empowering young people to use their creativity and innovation, we sought to create a ripple effect of environmental awareness and action across Europe and beyond.
