Our idea of creating our project started with the realization of how technology and technological devices make us dependent and compulsory in our daily lives. It was possible to see this in every moment of our personal lives, in local activities we carried out with our teammates. Afterwards, a member of us who is actually a bit interested in science and technology among us and examined its relationship with health, applied a test to see who is a technology addict within our partner organisations. Unfortunately, the result was not pleasant because all of our teammates were at the peak of technology addiction. The real problem was how inefficient we all actually use technology and that we are used to spend our time on things that are not meant to improve ourselves. All of these were situations that put us in jeopardy in terms of our health, time, and personal growth, and we needed to change that. Our project idea was ready, but before starting, we exchanged the ideas with the most of our project partners who are organizations working with young people because we were also curious about the situation in the world. Addiction, inefficient and misuse of technology were also very common among young people globally. In addition, when we investigated the details of this subject a little more, we reached the following data: The European Commission has supported with statistics that young people are now a part of digital life, but this situation causes many problems such as cyberbullying, unsafe internet access, dangerous and infected content, addiction due to improper use of technology, especially in young people, addiction to games and social networks. That is why even the European Parliament has made policy studies for them. (Harmful internet use – Part I: Internet addiction and problematic internet use). The purpose of our project: In the light of all the research we have done and the exchange of information with our partners, we wanted to understand how we should use technology more accurately and what impact it has on our lives, at the same time we wanted to spread awareness of technology addiction and learn how to deal with it. As a generation born into a digital world, we are aware that technology has become an indispensable part of our lives. However, we often ignore the harmful aspects of it and make ourselves dependent on technology, technological devices and social networks. In order to achieve the goal of our project, we have designed the following specific goals: O1: Becoming aware of technology use and addiction by having a balanced understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet; detox programs for technology addicts as a need for the purpose of providing mental and physical health, which is one of the youth objectives of the European Commission - getting rid of addiction / reducing addiction through the inclusion of new methods and participants. O2: Raising awareness through sharing personal experiences related to harmful internet usage in order to resolve important problems such as fake news, cyberbullying, data protection, general internet digital addiction and online game addiction; the general topics given here overlap with the harmful internet use issues that the European Parliament has drawn attention to. O3: Developing our digital skills in connection with increasing our employability and preparing for current and future labor market needs at the European level; with this goal, the European Youth Strategy, one of the objectives of the European Youth Strategy, which is published by the European Commission and is among the priority supported by Erasmus +, supports young people by directing young people to the correct, aware and effective use of technology as a need for the youth objectives, and thus, to distance young people from harmful internet content, also to ensure that the means of access to these opportunities are learned for the perception of accessible job opportunities for young people and their professional development. O4: Exploring how we can deal with digital inclusion and digital exclusion as young people and promote a safe and inclusive online environment; in this way, to learn new technological methods / tools / platforms for our personal and professional development. O5: Promoting intercultural interaction and social inclusion by bringing together individuals with different values, beliefs, expectations, opportunities and cultures and addressing stereotypes promoted through online media.
