From the “youth work” perspective, it was, among other things, about ensuring that the young people from five, later six, countries who came up with this project together were empowered and supported to carry it out successfully. This sense of achievement, the experience of self-efficacy, should motivate them to continue their engagement in the future and to believe that their own ideas can be realized. The young people in the organizational team and the participants in the youth encounter, acquired a variety of skills over the course of the project or improved existing ones. So they could then successfully participate in the planning and implementation of further projects. They should improve their ability to make decisions, develop ideas and implement them together with others. Furthermore they should improve their intercultural skills, gain self-confidence and continue to develop into responsible citizens. They should experience how much fun it can take to be active in international teams and pursue a goal together and also experience how easy it is to communicate in English. The participants should get to know a European country that was previously largely unknown to many exchange participants. The project wanted to contribute to international understanding, especially since participants from Albania and Serbia also took part in the project. Ultimately, it was about organizing fundraising events in six cities and using these events to raise money in order to support anti-poverty projects.
