Objectives

By implementing the project "Speak It Loud," we aimed to support migrants, analyze migration processes, and investigate the establishment of fears and violence towards different nationalities, as well as find ways to solve prejudices concerning other nations. The cultural dialogue between participants was an essential part of our project, as it was primarily built on sharing experiences between people from different countries. Additionally, we aimed to investigate the origins of stereotypes and issues of mentality, and their influence on the human perception of representatives of other nations. Our project aimed to address the significant issue that nearly 13.5% of all people live outside their country, many of whom had to leave due to hunger, war, or in search of better living conditions. Unfortunately, not everyone managed to find a better life; many migrants live in terrible conditions and face discrimination from others who consider them enemies. Through our interactions with young people, we noticed a keen interest in migration and intercultural dialogue, which we recognized as both interesting and beneficial for them. This inspired us to create this project and involve the participants actively in shaping its concept, aiming to meet their expectations and achieve significant results. By carrying out this project, we aimed to engage 50 young people from 5 countries to discuss the most relevant migration problems, conduct simulation games on this topic, and generate ideas for solving the issue of stereotypical thinking regarding representatives of other nations residing in their countries. The participants worked on workshops in their national teams after the youth exchange, which helped to raise social responsibility and awareness on our topic in their localities. They demonstrated the problem of widespread discrimination concerning the real situation in their countries, if applicable. Through the realization of this project, we aimed to share its results widely, particularly with those who could not participate directly in the youth exchange. Despite receiving applications from over 300 participants from various countries, the limited availability of spots restricted direct involvement. Our goal was to ensure that everyone could benefit from the project regardless of participation status. We provided essential information and implemented methods that improved the situation concerning discrimination against migrants. Additionally, we ensured that all registered applicants received the project results, allowing them to access and utilize the materials to extend the project's impact beyond the immediate participants. The project consisted of three main blocks aimed at addressing specific issues and needs: migration processes globally and in Europe specifically, stereotypes and mentality, and cultural peculiarities and methods of building intercultural partnerships and cooperation. We wanted the participants to learn and investigate the importance of tolerant behavior towards other nations and minorities, such as migrants. Our goal was to eradicate unjust attitudes and labels while providing participants with an understanding of the importance and power of intercultural dialogue. The objectives of the project were to: - Enhance intercultural learning among participants and promote intercultural dialogue. - Increase the social responsibility of the participants, demonstrating that each individual can influence both the establishment and deconstruction of stereotypes concerning other nations. - Provide participants with comprehensive knowledge about migration, distinguishing between different types of migration such as labor migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and internally displaced people. - Equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to disseminate the project's results locally through the implementation of workshops. - Build strong collaborations between participants from various countries and emphasize the importance of a tolerant attitude towards all nations and the various reasons for migrating.
