The "Breaking Gender Barriers through Youth Work" project was designed with several interconnected objectives aimed at fostering positive change in the landscape of gender equality. Firstly, the project sought to create a dynamic platform for the exchange of experiences, best practices, and knowledge among youth workers and organizations, specifically focusing on gender mainstreaming and women's empowerment. In tandem, the initiative endeavored to enhance the participants' knowledge and understanding of various gender-related concepts, underlining the significance of gender equality in youth work. The project also aspired to provide a space for cross-cultural learning by encouraging the sharing and comparison of gender realities in the European Union and neighboring partner countries. Additionally, a key goal was to promote gender sensitivity within youth work and encourage a broader gender-sensitive approach in participating organizations. Beyond knowledge exchange, the project aimed to facilitate networking among participants, fostering the development of joint projects under Erasmus+ that promote gender equality. By establishing a long-term learning journey, including practical application and follow-up activities in local communities, the project strove to contribute to breaking down gender barriers and building a support system for sustainable change in youth activities.
