As we wrote in the application: "The idea of this project is to enable youth workers/ teachers/group leaders to use movement and dance to connect and work with young people. A lot of traditional youth work uses non physical methods, or if physical methods are used, they are usually sports based. We would like to develop a more creative and physical method of connection and development based on more than 20 years of implementing art-based youth-exchanges both from Arttrain itself and within the European network Drums for Peace. Another objective was the networking dimension, which was very important as a contribution to the above mentioned Drums for Peace cooperation. When this started in year 2000 it was new and innovative to use the participative arts for the empowerment of young people, and when Mr. Bo in 1999 did apply for his first youth-exchange, such an art-based project was completely new to the Danish NA, which were used to sports-organisations, scouts and political youth. Drums for Peace was very powerful and attractive during 15 years and did constitute as a legal association with a full-time equipped office working mainly online from Bucharest, but during the last years member organisations have closed and other just left the network, so "Dance for the Future" did both have the function of stabilising this cooperation after Covid-19 lock-down and of intensifying the cooperation with some new potential member organisations.
