Objectives

With this Erasmus+ project, we wanted to start the transition to project based learning in our kindergarten. Project based learning allows learning and educational activities to be based on children's interests and to deal with one topic over a longer period. This gives an opportunity to slow down the pace of teaching, let the children explore more, discover and ask questions and find the answers themselves. Working in small groups can be used in project based learning, which promotes the development of cooperation skills. Children learn self-expression and performance by presenting their knowledge to others. The transition to project-based learning also meant a transition from week-based planning of learning and educational activities to project-based planning. It meant creating the foundations of new plans.

Background

The educational landscape is in a constant process of renewal and change. Just as new teaching methods are implemented in school, so too in kindergarten there are new approaches to better involve students in learning and educational activities. Early childhood education is a very important foundation for life. In kindergarten, it is not enough to teach factual knowledge, it is important to know how to teach the child to learn and find solutions on his own. Learning must be interesting and inclusive for the child, then he will gladly participate in the activities. With the project "Learning and teaching in a changing world", we want to learn to teach so that we can listen to children's interests and plan learning activities so that the child is an active participant, discoverer and learner. We want to offer children opportunities to develop their cooperation skills, problem solving and self-expression skills.
