Objectives

The main objective of the project was for the participating organisations to become more inclusive and to bring more understanding and consciousness into the day to day school life and into providing qualitative education/services for each student in respect with the individual needs and capabilities. Respectively the project also aimed to seek possible ways to support teachers/ specialists through competence building, ensuring a good base of educational knowledge and resources, as well as enhancing well-being and motivation in the work-settings of the participating organisations. The project consortium expected the following outcomes and results: - Improved competencies among the educational personnel to notice, cooperatively and effectively solve challenging situations; - Students with diverse, including SEN, profiles being noticed, included, and supported according to their needs; - Inclusive and motivating teaching and learning environments in the participating organisations; - Diverse and inclusive studies where both teachers and students experience satisfaction and joy; - Gained experience, competence and confidence for further international communication and cooperation.

Background

The project was motivated by the need to keep up with the demands for quality education in the continuously changing local/ national/ international situations where the implementation of inclusive education is promoted, the number of SEN students in mainstream schools is ever higher, and the teachers and specialists engaging with a wide variety of student profiles need to constantly improve their skills and know-how. Competence building for becoming more inclusive and supportive on personal, professional and organisational level is an urgent need when teaching basic skills and furthering the students success in studies and life. The consortium of partners saw the international cooperation providing opportunity for observing and learning from different practices, discussing techniques and methodologies used by international colleagues in order to enhance teamwork and clarity of procedures as well as to improve learning and teaching processes in their local settings thereafter.
