From global to european and local level, decisive actions for climate change adaptation and resilience have become imperatives to cope with the "code red for humanity” following the latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report Among effective ways to achieve climate change adaptation are diversification strategies such as the ones provided by Permaculture, regenerative agriculture and regenerative hydrology. The Southern Lights organization and the cohort of organizations comprising this partnership have accumulated significant experience facilitating and hosting a large number of seminars and workshops on the aforementioned regenerative topics during the past 3 years. Carrying the pioneering legacy of 35 years of organic cultivation of the land, the Southern Lights have gradually established themselves as forerunners in the spread of agroforestry in Greece, a practice that remains little known and even less practiced in the country for the moment. By organizing numerous workshop and training activities, in Greece and abroad, nation-wide Food Forest Tours and coordinating the international Regen network, the organization is rapidly achieving tangible impacts on the agricultural transition and regeneration of natural and social ecosystems at local, regional and international level. In this context, the ‘ Ru.RE.L.A.’ training aimed to engage in, support and facilitate accelerated learning and collaboration among youth workers and youth leaders of the numerous European regenerative initiatives partnering in this project. Guided by an internationally recognized trainer, within the welcoming setting of the Southern Lights farm (Greece), this training course encompassed a multitude of non-formal learning activities, which aimed at enhancing the skills and competences of young people as well as their active citizenship. we expected to contribute to the evolution of youth work by: - supporting the development of the professional, social and linguistic skills of the participants and their personal development as a source of motivation and satisfaction in their daily work; - improving the quality of the service offered by participants and by organizations of which they are members, for the benefit of the greatest number, and in particular of young people and leaders of social utility projects (offers better suited to needs, based on active and participatory methods, development of ecological, civic and citizen awareness); - building a community of youth workers that can support the quality of projects and activities for young people in EU programmes and beyond. They will have access to systems and tools that promote greener living, social dialogue, living together and intercultural encounters, thus also strengthening their sense of European identity and their participation in democratic processes.
