The project was launched in response to the EU Commission's Strategy for Gender Equality 2020-2025, which highlights gender-based violence as a major social challenge rooted in gender inequality. Cyber-violence, which is particularly exacerbated by the pandemic COVID-19, disproportionately affects women and remains insufficiently addressed in terms of its impact on victims. The project aims to address this emerging form of violence by focusing on the needs of two main target groups: young people aged 18-29 and professionals in victim support services. Needs Addressed Youth in the 18-29 Age Group: This group is particularly vulnerable to cyber harassment due to their high internet usage. The project intends to provide training to help them protect themselves online, recognize and report violence, and access resources and support. Youth Workers and Victim Support Professionals: The project will develop a training curriculum to enhance the ability of these professionals to support victims of cyber gender-based violence effectively. This includes recognizing, responding to, and guiding victims to appropriate services. The project aims to provide comprehensive support and tools to these groups to combat and mitigate the effects.
