The main objective of TSE has been to promote the socio-cultural and labor integration of refugees and asylum seekers in the EU through the use of theater. To achieve this, a method has been developed that allows the transmission of linguistic skills, cultural values, environmental sensitivity, and specific knowledge to facilitate their employment in the agroecology sector. In order to accomplish this, the following objectives were established: - Create an innovative theatrical methodology applicable at a transnational level in the EU specifically aimed at the labor integration of asylum seekers and refugees in the agroecological sector. - Generate a theatrical pedagogical tool in the form of a didactic manual that includes the methodology aimed at training trainers dedicated to the social integration of populations benefiting from international protection. - Facilitate and accelerate the professionalization and labor integration of adult refugees and asylum seekers in the EU in an expanding sector such as agroecology. - Contribute directly and committedly to environmental protection and the fight against rural depopulation and abandonment.
The TSE project emerged from the observation, during a series of previous workshops conducted by the organization Naturgeis in Spain, of the potential of theater as an instrument for social, cultural, and labor integration among refugees and asylum seekers in the EU. In this sense, the project arose with the intention of addressing the following observed needs: -The reception systems of European states, while offering basic assistance to these populations, still have significant deficiencies regarding effective socio-cultural and labor integration. - The pressing labor need of these groups lacks a direct connection with the labor market that would allow linking their potential and interests with the needs of the labor market. - There is an evident ghetto effect among these populations resulting from the absence of initiatives that promote integration and a "tangible" relationship with host populations. - The potential of theater as a tool for social integration and the potential of the agroecological sector as a source of employment and occupation among refugees and asylum seekers in the EU have not been widely utilized.
