Objectives

Based on these needs, the clear objective of this project was to ensure that the help and support provided to these boys and girls was of the highest quality possible, especially from the educational community (teachers, classmates, and center staff), providing of high-quality tools and methods to achieve this. This project has not only managed to provide preschool and primary schools with tools to satisfactorily support the development and inclusion of these students, but also coincides with the objectives of the partnership partners: ‒ Attract and expand access to the Erasmus+ Program for new and small-scale organisations. ‒ Support the inclusion of groups with fewer opportunities. ‒ Improve networking and management of the entities involved, developing our capacity to work at a transnational and intersectoral level. ‒ Address common priorities and needs in the areas of education and youth. These objectives also coincide with the EU line to stop 21st century diseases such as cancer (“Strategy on the rights of people with disabilities for 2021-2030”, European Plan to Fight Cancer, and Action Plan Digital Education 2021-2027).

Background

Childhood cancer is a terrible fact, which exposes boys and girls to very harsh treatments without even guaranteed success. Even those who manage to overcome it maintain serious physical, social, and emotional consequences, which is why they need a lot of support to achieve full development, school being one of the fundamental ones. But very often neither teachers nor the centers themselves (much less the students) know how to react and support students who are going through this disease. This project was born precisely from the need to support the full development and inclusion of these boys and girls, as well as the need to provide preschool and primary schools with high-quality tools for this: innovative and effective methods. that help teachers make their classes equal for these boys and girls; materials and resources that allow these methods to be implemented; and a sustainable network that allows these minors to live fully. It is necessary to be able to guarantee a childhood with hope, joy, and normality to those boys and girls who are immersed in the battle of their lives against cancer, and to assure those who triumph over it a future full of opportunities.
