Objectives

By implementing this project, we wanted to correspond to one of the set priorities of Erasmus+ Programme and European Commission for young people, which is the promotion of their well-being and especially their mental health, and to the general goal of Erasmus+ programme which is the educational, professional, and personal development of youth through non-formal and informal education. This willingness of ours was based on the fact that although nowadays young people seem to have practically everything – easier access to information, knowledge, and opportunities just with the use of their fingerprint – it’s due to the high standards and demands of contemporary society that in practice they are more depressed, isolated, and incapable of stepping out of their comfort zone and dealing with everyday life’s challenges. Our goal was through this project and its activity to contribute to young people’s self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-development. To provide them the time, space, necessary tools, guidance, and support so that they could be able to identify and recognize who they really are, what has shaped them and what they seek from life, learn to set personal and professional goals of their own choice and how to reach them, become more resilient to life’s difficulties and strong and empathetic enough to be actively involved in their local communities, make a change and have an impact, raise their voices when it comes to their rights and support and stand up for others when they see injustice or violation of human rights. The objectives of the project were: • To provide the participants with a safe learning environment and the necessary space and time where they can learn, share, develop and become better versions of themselves • To provide space for participants from EU and non-EU (Partner) countries to meet and exchange ideas on self-development and the skills and competences that are crucial nowadays • To provide the participants with a variety of tools and methods to be able to handle different types of life situations and become change-makers • To increase the participants’ capacity for critical thinking and their leadership skills when working with others on a one-to-one and group basis • To develop effective communication and group dynamics through intercultural learning and through ensuring participants listen and pay attention to each other • To engage participants in the preparation and implementation of future joint initiatives • To create a network and partnership of organizations willing to work together on future projects • To promote Erasmus+ Programme and encourage the development of future partnerships as a mean of further support to personal and professional development of young people and youth work practitioners • To equip participants with skills, and knowledge and help them in developing the right attitudes that are necessary when undertaking projects with young people Through an international atmosphere, we addressed and discussed different aspects of international voluntary projects and activities and their required preparation. We also raised awareness of other issues that can arise or can be directly related to leading an international and local youth project. Our focus was directly linked to cooperation among organizations and the importance of leadership. Moreover, we provided a reliable and safe space for participants from both EU and non-EU countries to develop themselves and gain new skills for empowering their leadership skills. The inclusion of partner organisations from EEAC, SEE along with Mediterranean countries allowed us to have a broad share of experiences among us but also a broader audience for the dissemination of project results.
