The main objective of the project in Bilbao was to achieve a safe and trusting space among peers to empower young people on the importance of inclusion and recognition of diversity within the framework of the European Union and its youth projects. Through this initiative, the following objectives were pursued: Reflect: It sought to encourage reflection among participants on the importance of cultural diversity and the role of young people in building local communities in countries such as Portugal, Spain and Italy, as well as in the European Union as a whole. It promoted the recognition and appreciation of the contribution that ethnic-racial, cultural, gender-identity and religious diversity brings to the participating countries. Deliberate: The aim was to generate a space for deliberation where young people could discuss and analyse the spaces for participation and representation of diverse people in educational, labour, cultural and political spheres. The objective was to recognise the existing barriers in these spaces and propose strategies to overcome these circumstances, promoting greater inclusion and representation. Appropriating elements of empowerment: The aim was to provide young people with tools for empowerment in relation to social inclusion and cultural diversity. It promoted the creation of support networks and joint work among participants, in order to strengthen their capacity to address diversity-related challenges and promote positive change in their communities.
