Objectives

This project arose from the premise of the need to promote environmental support, recognizing that current efforts are insufficient. While media attention focuses on climate change, equally serious issues such as resource scarcity and toxic waste accumulation worldwide are overlooked. Hence, the project has directed its environmental learning expectations towards "the three Rs" (recycle, reuse, and reduce). Additionally, we aimed to address this topic through photography, a cultural discipline that we are passionate about and in which several members have expertise. Thus, we developed a mobility in which, although there were sessions on each topic in isolation, we also tried to create sessions that combine both themes. Examples include the environmental World Press Photo session, a reflection on personal habits through photographs, and an explanation of waste-related conflicts in each group's region/locality/country through a photo-based game. A final project was also planned, consisting of an exhibition of photographs related to the three Rs. However, as we will discuss and explain throughout the report, the latter was not carried out. The two main objectives of this project were: 1. Foster awareness of key environmental issues and explore solutions, focusing on waste generation problems and the application of the three Rs to alleviate these issues. 2. Enhance the creative skills of participants in the field through photography. These objectives were complemented by other general goals, including: - Establishing intercultural bonds and integrating individuals into a multicultural group. - Learning foreign languages. - Disseminating the Erasmus+ program. - Promoting an understanding of the social and cultural reality of the mobility location and a nearby city. - Inclusion and prioritization of giving the opportunity to participate to individuals in disadvantaged situations. - Developing relationships between European youth associations. - Fostering values such as tolerance, solidarity, and a sense of European belonging. - Developing soft skills (public speaking, teamwork, leadership, tolerance, coexistence, etc.).
