One of the specific objectives of the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 programme is to promote language learning and linguistic diversity. Most, if not all, Erasmus+ projects are conducted in English, but language animation is increasingly present in many youth exchanges and training courses, forming part of intercultural education in youth projects. However, the lack of language skills is one of the main barriers faced by many young people who want to participate in European projects. Fear of making mistakes or being blocked when speaking in another language other than their own generates frustration and inability to communicate. This problem is not only seen in young people, but also in youth workers, facilitators, group leaders, mentors, etc. Although language animation in short-term projects cannot be considered as a suitable tool for language learning, it does help to break down barriers, to learn words in other languages and to systematize what has been learned. It also helps to assess participants' language skills. In this project we will use sport as a tool that offers us the possibility to overcome the language barrier in order to share experiences. The common rules of the game and similar game types in several European countries allow people who speak different languages to play sports together. The specific objectives to be achieved by this project are: - Use language animation as a very useful tool to promote communication in Erasmus+ projects and motivation for language learning. - Equip youth workers with different tools to use language animation both in participation and in the organisation of international projects. - Exchange experiences, good practices and methodological tools related to language animation. - Work on the creation of language animation resources that can be consulted and used in future international projects. - Create a network of partnerships to develop future projects promoting language animation in different social fields.
