This project arose to give continuity to our previous project "Trazando Futuro" (Mapping the Future) , which we developed during 2021 within the key action 3 of Erasmus + Youth. Due to its success and good results, we wanted to carry out a new initiative, including some modifications and improvements with respect to the previous one. In our organisation, the Youth Service of Majadahonda Town Coundil, we work with an approach of continuous improvement in the design of programmes that allow us to fulfill our mission and improve the quality of life of young people. It is also part of our methodological framework to facilitate the acquisition and training of key competences, as a way of helping young people to achieve full personal, social and professional development. With the implementation of this project, in its second edition, we wanted to propose a space for reflection, in which the young people have been able to explore their needs and the future challenges they face, being aware of their role as active citizens, and that this can contribute to the development of policies at the local level. The experience of our previous project (Mapping the Future 2021), allowed us to create a more direct and structured communication channel with the youth of the municipality, and in this new edition we have wanted to continue with the work of integrating the resulting proposals into the programmes and services of the Youth Service. For this reason, we wanted to continue exploring the channels that allow us to know the needs of young people and facilitate their access to existing resources, involving the largest possible number of people, including profiles with whom we hardly have any relationship since they do not participate in the activities of the Youth Center. With the young participants we have addressed the analysis of their needs, and together with the youth workers team and political leaders, design strategies or redesign programmes that address them. The objectives of "Mapping the Future 2022" have been: • Create a space for reflection and teamwork on the needs and opportunities of young people. • Introduce the EU Youth strategy, the European Youth Goals and the european programmes for young people • Favor the development of key competences. • Promote the active participation of young people in local democratic life. • Improve the services and programmes aimed at the youth of the municipality. • Continue with the channel of communication and collaboration between the policy makers, the youth workers and the youth of the municipality, bringing the municipal institutions closer to the needs of the young people. In conclusion, through this project we have tried to carry out a joint work, young people, youth workers and political leadres, that allows us to reflect on the youth reality, involving young people in the exercise of active citizenship and promoting their participation in the design and improvement of local policies that affect tehir lives. On the other hand, it has been an opportunity to create a space for personal reflection, generate motivations and develop personal skills.
