What's about Europe' (WAE) was a project designed to encourage youth participation and promote the involvement of young people in the democratic life of Europe. The idea arose after detecting in the young people with whom Fundación Senara works the emerging need to connect the younger public with the EU institutions and to raise awareness of all the opportunities available in Europe for work and personal life. Furthermore, although 7 out of 10 young Spaniards confessed to feel pro-European according to a study published in September 2021 and carried out by Fundación Alternativas, only 1 out of 2 believed that the opinion of young people counts in Europe and 75% stated that Spain's influence in the EU in 2020 would not be strengthened -a study carried out by students of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Valencia-. The objectives pursued through WAE were: 1. To raise awareness of common European values and fundamental rights in order to contribute to the process of European integration. 2. To encourage the participation of young people and to bring them closer to EU bodies and to EU representatives in Spain. 3. To reinforce the priority of social inclusion by promoting the participation of young people from different socio-economic backgrounds.
