Objectives

In this Youth Participation Activity, the promotion of reading was proposed as a way of transmitting European values and promoting Human Rights, democracy and education for peace, thus contributing to community and social development, resulting in a community with greater solidarity, cohesion and sensitivity to the needs of different groups. To this end, special attention was paid to the selection of works to be read and the messages they convey, adapting the contents to the ages and/or characteristics of the target groups of each action. Furthermore, Service-Learning was approached as a way to develop competences in the group of young people and as a tool to increase the commitment and solidarity of young people with society. The youth group developed activities to encourage reading with different target groups. OBJECTIVES General objective: To develop Youth Participation actions for the promotion of reading through the Service-Learning methodology, resulting in the promotion of European values and Human Rights in the local community and the development of skills, competences and knowledge in the youth group that enable them to act for a fairer, more inclusive and solidarity-based society.
