Objectives

General objective: Promote supportive, fair and inclusive societies committed to the 2030 Agenda by empowering youth in Europe. Specific objective: Promote a youth committed to the 2030 Agenda and social transformation by designing and implementing creative solidarity initiatives through artistic and audiovisual methodologies.Furthermore, empowering youth’s participation in society, through training and awareness raising through the development of artistic tools and innovative pedagogical tools. These objectives are in line with the priorities chosen to promote a more active and critical citizenship, with a capacity for initiative, seeking the inclusion of all people and fighting against inequalities. In the local contexts this translates to the active involvement of young participants from vulnerable backgrounds, with little or no previous knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda, gaining knowledge and becoming empowered, informed and interested during the project. As well as training and bringing closer the youth workers to the needs and interests of young people.

Background

This project addressed the need to approximate the SDGs and 2030 Agenda to young people in Europe. Specifically, to facilitate its integration within formal and non-formal education spaces and to create pedagogical tools for youth workers and educators who are interested in pursuing this purpose.Secondly, to strengthen the capacities and tools of the youth workers and educators of the participating entities and the youth to whom they dedicate their work. Boosting the work that both entities were already doing, strengthening its quality and generating new tools that allow integrating both critical actions and artistic expressions, while deepening knowledge about the 2030 agenda. It focused on the needs of youth from vulnerable backgrounds from the local areas of participating entities. We proposed to apply the pedagogical and artistic expertise of the consortium to accommodate the needs of these groups as holders of rights and responsibilities, exploiting artistic creation as the means to develop motivation, interest and social commitment in the beneficiaries, having identified the need to explore and develop their artistic potential as means to generate and channel active global citizenship and participation.
