Specific objectives: SO1: SDGsIY provided youth workers with knowledge, competences, and skills to exploit digital tools to promote inclusive non-formal and informal education actions, pathways, and initiatives around GOAL 13 of the SDGs. SO2: increased awareness of young people and young people with disabilities on the importance of GOAL 13 by exploiting social media campaigns. SO3: increased awareness in local communities of the importance of GOAL 13, inviting youth workers and youth organizations to adopt the results reached.
For years scientists have warned us that environmental problems, which are the consequence of human activity, represent a danger both to our health and that of the planet. Organisations including the European Union (EU), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank have already come out in favour of a Green Recovery to overcome this health, financial and social crisis by following the path mapped out by the 2030 Agenda in the search for a more sustainable world. This Agenda is made up of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), further broken down into 169 targets with the intention of "leaving no-one behind". The threat of climate change is now more real than ever and the SDGs are crucial if we want to avoid compromising our children's future. Goal 13 take urgent action to combat to combat climate change and its impacts. In order to fight against climate change, SDGsIY will contribute to raise awareness of the GOAL 13, exploiting inclusive social media campaigns as tool to raise awareness among youth workers and young people with and without disabilities, with the intention of "leaving no-one behind" in contributing to the SDGs.
