We wish to develop the practices, pedagogical activities and thinking in regard to sustainability as well as participation and learning life skills simultaneously. We hope to find new innovations and ideas for executing environmental education in an urban setting. We also want to strengthen the communal and participatory activities between the day care and families. The project will serve to guide the transformative process of the day care in a way that supports the pedagogical goals in a holistic way including also the possibilities introduced by the new outdoor and indoor spaces. We also wish to support the well being and professional growth in an inclusive manner.
Our day care center is going through changes in the form of offering care for a new age group and moving into new facilities. The project would give us ideas and perspectives that would enable us to use this process in order to develop our activities and practices especially regarding sustainability, practical learning and communal participation.
