Both international cooperation and sustainable development are important aspects of the work of Kuopion klassillinen lukio. One aim of the project was to create a model that evaluates the quality of activities enhancing sustainable development in our school in order to achieve a greater involvement of teachers and students in bringing the goals of Agenda 2030 into teaching, school life and events. By participating in courses and job shadowing we wanted to find ideas for activities to support that goal. We also sought ways to encourage young people to participate in the organized activities in our community and beyond. Another aim of courses, job shadowing and possible university cooperation was to seek material that can be applied in the teaching of various subjects so that at the end of the project work, sustainable development and the goals of Agenda 2030 would not appear as activities of a separate team but as a cross-cutting activity in the school's operating culture. Last but not least, after the miserable years of Covid, we also searched for contacts for future cooperation, especially in form of accredited student mobilities.
The goal of Kuopion klassillinen lukio (Kuopio Classical High School) is to be part of building a sustainable future. Each teacher and student buids it through their own activities and the school’s operating culture supports the activities of each member of the community to build a better future. The high school's quality work is to build a continuous and long-term sustainable development operating model, which is regularly evaluated and on the basis of which operations are further developed. Through the project, we seek diverse ways to motivate and activate, encourage and reward sustainable development activities in our school. The aim is also to network internationally and build university cooperation to strengthen a multidisciplinary approach. Through European cooperation, we seek information, insights and support for the development of our operations.
