Objectives

By implementing the "Social Sports for All" project, our objectives were multifaceted: to foster social inclusion and mental well-being among individuals with developmental disabilities and the elderly through accessible sports programs. We aimed to break down barriers to physical activity, promote community engagement, and enhance participants' physical health, social connections, and self-esteem. Additionally, the project sought to raise public awareness about the benefits of inclusive sports and to establish a sustainable model for similar initiatives, ensuring that sports and physical activities are recognized as vital tools for social cohesion and individual well-being.

Background

The "Social Sports for All" project was initiated in response to the identified need for promoting social inclusion and mental well-being through sports and physical activity. This need was particularly significant among individuals with developmental disabilities and the elderly, who often face challenges with social isolation and a lack of physical activity. The project aimed to create accessible sports and physical activity opportunities that are available to everyone, fostering community, health, and well-being. By securing Erasmus+ funding, the project sought to meet these needs with innovative approaches, such as digital platforms and "easy-to-read" materials, making information more accessible and engaging for all target groups.
