Objectives

During our exchanges we have been noticing that young people talk more and more about healthy food and sport habits. In addition, at the time of «Open Space» activity the youth have been gradually proposing more exchange themes related to ecology and climate. Meaning that youth people are aware of the importance of adopt healthy practices as well with the importance of the preservation of the planet. For this reason, we followed up youth concerns while adopting the bicycle as the central point of the project. Taking the benefits of bicycles for our health and the environment protection, we created a holistic learning environment that helped the young people to reach a deeper understanding of the overall healthy and sport habits issue. Therefore, the project’s main goal was to promote healthy practices related to nutrition and cycling among young people. Moreover, this project was held in Damvillers which is a village nearby Schengen and that is the main reason why we have chosen this location. Considering the Schengen symbolic meaning for Europe, we want to value its benefits and we went for bike rides in the surrounding areas. The bike rides crossed the Moselle’s river banks through Luxembourg, Germany and France. With this we wanted also to promote the cycle paths of these countries and the region of Moselle. By this means, participants had the opportunity to put in practice their learnings whilst contributing to the environmental protection.
