Objectives

The project aimed to empower adult LGBTIQ+ Rainbow Families Croatia (RFC) members (who organize support groups and/or offer individual psychological counselling) by enhancing their knowledge about the organization's activities. This enabled them to educate and engage their community effectively. Additionally, the project sought to ensure sustainability for RFC by building a skilled core team capable of transferring knowledge to new members. The Erasmus+ project aimed to counteract the lack of local funding for LGBTQIA+ initiatives, fostering professional growth within RFC and promoting European recognition of LGBTQIA+ rights in Croatia.

Background

Rainbow Families Croatia (RFC) advocates for LGBTIQ+ families and parental rights. We offer support, legal advice, gatherings, and education through various activities. We aim to educate adult LGBTIQ+ members, enabling them to educate their community. Despite COVID-19 limitations and political challenges, Erasmus+ offers vital EU support. This application aimed to enhance skills, stability, and sustainability for our organization, aiding members' growth and fostering EU recognition. Given the lack of local LGBTQIA+ funding, EU programs like Erasmus+ are essential for our professionalization and community empowerment. Through this project, we wanted to empower our members, build partnerships, and share learning throughout Europe.
