The main purpose of the project “Do We Resemble” was to challenge and fight prejudices and stereotypes young people have nowadays; to speak openly about discrimination and agree on ways how to overcome and fight it. At the same time, the purpose of the project was to create a mechanism for promotion of similarities, common things we share, through production and post-production of a documentary filmed in all 7 countries involved in the project. The project objectives were: - to involve a group of 35 youngsters from 7 countries in a project about culture, identity, tradition, intercultural learning, dialogue and understanding; - to broaden participants knowledge in these topics and provide them opportunity to learn how to recognize prejudices and stereotypes and break them; - to teach young people how to use video and movie making as a tool to express thus increase and improve their digital and IT skills; - to engage 35 young people in production and post production of a documentary about our cultures and common things we share, provide them opportunity to film footage, traditional things, cultural behavior; - to implement a positive social media campaign on tik-tok and facebook related to common culture. The project promoted respect among different culture, acceptance of diversity as something that is good, understanding interculturality – something that is a must in societies nowadays. By allowing participants to focus on good things we share the project provided opportunity for them to overcome prejudices, to understand and accept that we are all similar and we have so many things in common that it is a shame to spend our time focusing on negativity. The project “Do We Resemble” brought together young people from Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Turkey, Romania, Portugal and Spain and provided them the opportunity to learn about culture, identity, explore tradition and culture, learn about movie making and produce a documentary that will unite us and give as an example of positive energy and answer on how much we resemble each other.
