Objectives

We gathered 24 young people from Croatia, Romania, Spain and Italy on a youth exchange with the aim to encourage each other in developing social skills, empathy and team work to successfully overcome the pandemic and face the challenges of today. To attain that, we used experiential learning methods, activities in nature and peer learning. The pandemic has negatively affected young people in many areas of their lives, limiting socialization needed for growing up healthy. As an organization that regularly implements experiential learning programs in nature, we presented this method to the youngsters as a tool to encourage their socialization, increase teamwork, empathy, and resilience after the pandemic. Our goal was to include half of the youth with fewer opportunities and support their participation in youth mobility programs and increase all participants’ understanding of inclusion in practice. The strong focus was on the transfer and application of acquired skills, knowledge and attitudes into everyday lives of participants and into their local communities.
