By providing a higher quality level of service, we improve the chances of offenders to acquire social and life soft skills neccesary for resocialization back into the community and quality life.

Background

Probation officers and treatment officers in the prison system work with offenders with the goal of achieving changes in behavior, attitudes, development of life, social and soft skills in order to better reintegrate into the community and become useful members of their communities. We applied for this project to enable officers who work with offenders to be educated and develop digital tools for learning and practicing the skills of working with offenders in the field of establishing a therapeutic alliance. The mentioned topic / skill is a prerequisite for any work with offenders, and evidence-based research and meta studies show that this very skill is a predictor of the success of any treatment. By improving the competencies of treatment officers, we provide a better level of service to offenders, we contribute to the motivation to change of offenders, that is, by using this approach in work, our end users - offenders, have a greater chance of reintegration into society, improving resocialization and rehabilitation, and reduced chances of recidivism.
