In this project, our aim was to bring together young people from various art and science fields and inspire them for future collaborations, to help them in their future careers and to close the gap between young people coming from different economical and societal backgrounds. To do so, the two partner organisations decided to do a bilateral collaboration, as the two organisations share a lot of similar values and interests and has a large audience of young people being interested and seeking employment opportunities in various art and science fields. At the moment, our organisation is working with two other organisations on youth projects for young people being engaged in the field of art and science: Sessi.Space (Cz) and III (NL) (see "Summary of Participating Organisations"). Originally, this project was planned together with us and III. After we received the information about the accepted project, we were looking for the date of the Youth Exchange that would suit both of us. In this project, there was a below-average emphasis on participant involvement, as the project was planned together with participants and participants were about to hold many of the activities of the youth exchange. Unfortunately, we faced a situation, where it was impossible to synch our plans, because of the numerous yearly schedule changes of the organisations, and the constantly changing schools schedules of many of the participants being affected by unforeseen COVID regulations. We had to decide if we postpone the activity, or find alternative solutions. We had several online sessions with the participants to find a solution. The re-planning was a long process, it took almost 1,5 months, as we had to make sure we find a solution with which everyone is satisfied in the end. Consequently, we decided to change the partner organisation to our other partner (from III to Sessi.Space), to keep the participants from our side, to engage new participants from Sessi.Space and involve them in the planning as much as possible. With the participants with III, we have (together with some participants from both our side and Sessi.Space) planned a "PLAN B project" and did a grant application, which take place in the autumn of 2023. It is worth to note, that III gives high level of support to their members, both financially and professionally. In the end, many of their participants managed to engage in collaborative projects (mainly artistic research projects) with participants from us and Sessi.Space outside the Youth Exchange or any funded programme, but it is only thanks to the co-planning and then the problem solution procedure that took place around this project and the organisational support of III. To manage the administrative part of the change, we have received help from the National Agency of Hungary.
