Our main objectives in this project was to bring young people together, after such difficult times that we lived in. The Pandemic has not only brought us, hardships and isolation, but also the newer adjustments and changes in our everyday life. We had a personal motivation as we also experienced lack of socialization and found comfort and help by connecting to nature. Hiking and outdoor activities are important to us and environmental education, connecting with nature is one of the pillars of our organizations. Additionally, in our work, we contribute to the inclusion of the less fortunate and put effort into making people understand the importance of environmentally friendly actions and, therefore, improving society's life. We found that staying outdoors can have many benefits on our well being, including: • Spending time outdoors, especially in green spaces, is one of the fastest ways to improve your health and happiness. • It’s been shown to lower stress, blood pressure and heart rate while encouraging physical activity and mental health. • some research even suggests that green space is associated with a lower risk of developing psychiatric disorders We made an effort into making the participants understand the importance of environmentally friendly actions and, therefore, improving our society's life. Different environmental educational programmes (field trips, hiking, camps, adventure activities) are, - through personal experiences - aimed to develop pupils' affective relationship to the natural environment, their environmental sensitivity and outdoor behavior as well as their social relationships. This youth exchange program is created to bring young people outdoors for hiking, show them the beauty of nature and the lengths of its benefits to our health while emphasizing the importance of taking care of our environment to continue to serve our wellbeing. The program was built on different outdoor activities that brought us closer to nature and help nature get better. We aimed to exploit an important message that nature is good to us, and we should be good to nature as well. The main message from the exchange and the motto was that we shall leave every place we visit in a better condition than it was on our arrival. We defined two scientifically proven needs for our initiative: 1. Since anxiety disorders have grown across the world population, mental health problems have become a severe issue. - We need to face this situation and find ways to promote mental well-being among young people 2. As Humans, we never have been so far from merging with the natural world and so divorced from nature. By 2050, 68% of the world's population is projected to live in cities, says the UN. - Our project also aims to popularize spending quality, healing time in nature and trigger sustainable behaviors among young organizations aiming to develop the skills and attitudes of youngsters through learning non-formally about sustainable behavior.
