Objectives

The project aimed to explore situations of social exclusion and opportunities for inclusion through the method of digital storytelling from the perspective of young people. With the main activity of the project, we wanted - To tackle the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic among youth, understand better their experiences and equip them with a creative tool of self-expression to be able to reconnect with themselves, and with each other and become more sensitive towards social issues around them. - To include youth from different socio-cultural backgrounds, with special attention to youth with fewer opportunities. - To develop participants' expression and digital competencies through the method of digital storytelling. OUR GOALS AT THE APPLICATION WERE: TO EMPOWER YOUTH / YOUTH LEADERSHIP - By providing training and mentoring to the selected group leaders; - By encouraging you through a creative and low access method that enables them to express their views on the most urging questions of the society in a creative and fun way; To support the active participation of the group leaders, we provided online preparation and an online follow-up meeting. The preparatory meeting focused on workshop planning, the follow-up meeting contained an informative part about the opportunities of the funding program, and an idea-sharing part, where we discussed future project ideas. TO DEVELOP AND LEARN NEW SKILLS -The following competencies were at the center of our project: intercultural learning, creativity and expression, digital communication, self-awareness, and learning to learn. We implemented an intensive and diverse program, tailored to the needs of the target group, that included sessions related to the development of the above-mentioned skills of the participants. We monitored the learning process through a learning cycle that aimed to help participants to reflect on the main learning points. We introduced NFL, the key competencies, and the YouthPass. TO FOSTER INITIATIVES, ACTIVE YOUTH PARTICIPATION We revised the approved activity program with the group leaders and opened up space for their own contribution. Participants actively shaped the session and the dynamics, and their initiatives were supported by the facilitator and the organizers' team. TO RAISE AWARENESS in our communities ON THE TOPIC OF SE/SI Each participant - individually or in teams - created a digital story based on their personal interest and connection to their chosen topics. Due to the very personal nature of the movie projects, we decided to give them the opportunity to the participants to decide whether to publish or not the final videos. In a closing film screening session, we watched together and reflected on the final works of the participants.
