THE EMERGENCE AND MAIN THEME OF OUR PROJECT Unfortunately, there has been an increase in the rate of traffic accidents in recent years due to many reasons such as speeding, drunk driving, distraction, lack of sleep, unsafe vehicles and road infrastructure, neglected traffic rules, inadequate vehicle maintenance and repair. Studies and reports prepared worldwide necessitate the vision of minimizing the risks that cause traffic accidents as soon as possible. According to the report published by the World Health Organization (WHO) on June 21, 2021, approximately 1.3 million people worldwide lose their lives every year due to traffic accidents. According to researchers, driver errors take the first place among the factors that cause traffic accidents. In 2020, according to the research conducted by Euronews, the number of deaths in traffic accidents worldwide was 460 people in Hungary, 536 people in Portugal, 1370 people in Spain, 2395 people in Italy, 3020 people in Macedonia and Azerbaijan and finally 4866 people in Turkey. The organizations involved in our project took part in our project based on these statistics and contributed to raising national awareness by achieving our project objectives. Many people lose their lives, become disabled and suffer material damage in traffic accidents. These consequences of accidents also have a negative psychological impact on individuals. Psychiatric disorders such as insecurity, introversion, decreased environmental relations and depression are observed in individuals who have been involved in traffic accidents and their relatives. People exposed to accidents have an increased tendency to engage in harmful habits. Therefore, it is inevitable that traffic accident victims feel the negative effects of the accident both individually and reflect these effects to the society they live in. Individuals who are victims of accidents may experience problems such as withdrawal from social environments. For this purpose, within the scope of our project, traffic accidents that threaten human life and public health and the factors that cause these accidents were examined and measures and action plans were discussed. At the same time, it contributed to the awareness of individuals about the first aid that should be applied after the accident.
