The aim of the project was to develop the professional competences of the staff of both partner organisations and to improve the organisation through to expand the range of services offered by renewing the methods of community-development and by innovating the existing training courses. By learning from each other and exchanging good practice, organisations have identified opportunities which, if incorporated into their daily routines, will improve their effectiveness and prestige in the long term. Our aim was also to achieve results that would have an impact beyond the organisations themselves, through the revitalisation of the Carpathian Basin Folk High School Movement and the launch of networking. The results of the project are geared towards the development of the Integrated European Education Area, both by extending the range of services offered by the organisations and by building up the network of Folk High School, as it is tailored to the needs of today. The provision of training/courses as part of LLL, using innovative methodological tools, contributes to improving the knowledge of individuals in the context of adult learning, thereby improving their quality of life and enabling them to return to the labour market.
We applied for the project because the institutions involved in the partnership (Kapocs Folk High School, Human Reform Foundation) have similar tasks, face similar problems and have a significant common set of needs. The organisations in the partnership had similar future goals already before the project was planned. We have also seen that the both organisations of partnership operate in different organisational structures and in different ways; they offer several programmes for target groups living in partly different, in other aspects in the same macro- and micro-environment, which fall within the remit of the ’Folk Highschool’, and training opportunities to increase the knowledge and skills of the target groups, thus providing participants with another opportunity to remain in the labour market (new massage techniques - health tourism) or to return to the labour market (tile stove maker) or to improve the quality of life. From all this, it was clear that learning from each other, exchanging good practices and working together to expand the range of services offered would be fruitful for both organisations in the partnership.
