“JobLinguo” was aimed at a. supporting the job market inclusion of people with migrant background through improving their professional profile in terms of sectoral language and b. adapting the training offer of VET providers and other stakeholders to the linguistic needs of people with migrant background. The Consortium wanted to support the identified target group to get equal opportunities in job seeking in three sectors in which it is necessary to know a specific vocabulary and communication cannot be covered in a common foreign language (such as English for example). The goal was to create a programme that was in line with the training needs of adults with a migrant background when it comes to foreign language learning. The programme and materials were envisaged as adequate tools for group and individual learning, allowing potential users to continue the learning process even outside lessons.
“Language is one key to a successful integration”. Partners decided to apply for “JobLinguo” because they wished to support migrants in their community in having better job prospects and be a stronger presence in the labour market, specifically for what concerns three of the sectors in which they have difficulties in being employed (public administration, financial and insurance activities, agricultural field). When applying for a job, knowing the sectoral language related to it can be a crucial criterion of selection for an employer. Through the implementation of “JobLinguo”, the Consortium answered the needs of migrants with previous studies or working experience in the above-mentioned sectors that were lacking sectoral language knowledge in the national language of the hosting country. The format of the deliverables that were created answered the educational needs of adults when it comes to foreign language learning, especially in the case of sector-specific vocabulary. In addition, as a consequence, some of the needs of potential employers from the above-mentioned sectors were also met, thanks to the training of potential employees with a good knowledge of the sectoral language related to certain sector-specific tasks.
