Objectives

ESSENCE allowed for exchanges among EU partners from diverse geographical and social backgrounds on existing best practices, with the aim of developing transversal green skills, citizenship, and active participation in the life of local communities among different target groups of adult learners with fewer opportunities. These include disadvantaged elderly people, women victims of violence, and migrants/refugees, by training educators on practical methodologies.

Background

Partners from 4 European countries participated in the ESSENCE project to engage and share educational best practices in the field of adult education. The project aimed to develop transversal green skills, citizenship, and active participation among adult learners with fewer opportunities: disadvantaged elderly people, women victims of violence, and migrants/refugees. These groups, which are difficult to engage in learning pathways, needed skills to improve social and environmental integration. At the end of the project, we created a Handbook that collects the educational activities and shared best practices, enriching the educational offerings of partner organizations and addressing the needs of the final beneficiaries.
