The project, in the four main phases aimed to make a comparison of best practices on the application of web simulation-based teaching methods and on this basis, analyze new digital tools with specific fields of application (Healthcare in the main way). It then developed a new model course making use of web simulation-based teaching methods and innovative approaches to educational leadership that were tested by AEVA. Paraphrasing the definition provided by U.S. psychologists Peter Salovey and John Mayer, emotional intelligence can be seen as a capacity based on emotions and which precisely on these laid the foundation to support intellectual activity. Thus, the project grafted on feelings through two distinct pathways: on the one hand, emotional intelligence, which translated into an individual's own ability to tune into the feelings he or she feels and, on the other, to recognize, assess, manage and direct those feelings to support and facilitate the activity of thinking and acting as a leader. In this regard, the LAILA model developed included social skills thus rightfully falling under emotional intelligence (Goleman, 2014) and where the closer one gets to the top of the corporate hierarchy, the more the soft skills prove crucial.
The project has developed a ModeCourse dedicated to <<emotional intelligence to be new leaders>> in the post-COVID-19 context designed by the International Professional Standards for Innovative Educational Leaders (as suggested by Supsi University, in his role as scientific partner), focusing on the development of human intelligence in all its forms of knowledge: cognitive and social, emotional and practical. It made it possible to meet the demand of 24 selected leader trainers to make extensive use of web-based simulation and active teaching methods using new tools-the Hubs-in order to carry out effective teaching actions that can adapt to both lectures with physical presence as well as distance learning. LAILA wanted to contribute to strengthening digital transformation and multiple learning pathways recognized for the ability to create "positive changemakers. The ability to learn will determine the future of new leaders, not only with regard to knowledge, but also and especially with regard to other forms of intelligence. ICT, communication and work patterns are changing so fast that we will have to adapt and take advantage of them quickly; the same goes for resilience, namely the ability to absorb failures and learn from them.
