Objectives

Bullying and Cyberbullying remain among the most feared threats among adolescents, after drugs and sexual violence. Boys and girls do not feel safe on the web and after cyberbullying it is Revenge porn that is scarier, especially among girls. In the era of Covid-19, through the responses to a survey among our target groups, young people in our area expressed suffering for the sense of loneliness they feel every day and 68% of them declare that they have witnessed episodes of bullying, or cyberbullying, while 61% are victims. Among the survey participants, 6 out of 10 said they did not feel save on line. Girls re most afraid, especially on social media and dating apps, 61.36% of them confirm this. Among the greatest risks, both males and females place cyberbullying first (66.34%), followed by the loss of their privacy (49.32%), followed by Revenge porn (41.63). %), the risk of soliciting by attackers (39.20%), stalking (36.56%) and online harassment (33.78%). These numbers are alarming and reveal how dramatic the effects of the pandemic and the drastic changes it has brought in youngsters' lives. Social isolation, distance learning and the loss of sociability cause profound loneliness and demotivation but also anxiety, anger and fear that are also an ever greater retreat in social networks where the risks of bullying and cyberbullying increase. Bullying has evolved and become more and more dangerous but it is possible to prevent it by promoting interpersonal skills in respect of oneself and others precisely among youngsters who live this type of experience firsthand with a path different from the initiatives promoted by families or by school and implement a series of initiatives including this Erasmus + project to address these issues, provide information, develop greater observation skills with respect to bullying and cyberbullying to have more tools to deal with and overcome situations of abuse and arrogance.
