The following are the objectives of the project: - to acquire knowledge about inclusive education, its implementation, special educational needs of students, their recognition and ensuring the quality of responding to such needs at school; - to develop a strategy for the implementation of quality inclusive education; - to encourage employees to develop their qualifications and competencies; - to create and maintain an inclusive education environment which would enable each student to participate in the learning environment.
This project is one of the means to overcome the challenges Kaunas technical vocational training center is currently facing and which are described in the Centre's strategy for 2021-2023: - the institution does not have an inclusive teaching / learning strategy that defines actions, tools and instruments to identify students' special needs, enable each learner to participate fully in the educational process, create a quality inclusive environment and provide comprehensive support to the learner; - employees lack knowledge about inclusive education, they do not feel they have enough competencies to ensure its quality implementation; - employees do not devote enough time to professional development, often cannot find suitable courses for them; - there is still a number of employees who are not involved in international activities.
