Objectives

By implementing the project, we wanted to achieve these objectives: - Prevent migration of Local Adults in Bolzano and Kaunas who were considering to migrate by encouraging and providing alternative pathways for employment and entrepreneurship to remain in the country. - To increase the inclusion of migrants into the local community and to help them find employment and self-employment opportunities so they could feel a sense of belonging. - To enhance Digital Skills and Entrepreneurial Attitudes: The target groups were intended to benefit from the project by acquiring enhanced digital skills and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset. The objective was to equip them with the necessary competencies to explore entrepreneurship as a viable option. - Strengthened Partnership collaboration and the promotion of Sustainable Development and Slow Tourism: The project aimed to strengthen the connections between partner associations, to increase the adoption of slow tourism practices and also aimed to spread the ideas of sustainable development of rural areas and non-formal education as tools for intercultural learning and self-development.

Background

The primary motivation for applying was to address the need of preventing migration of local adults and unemployed immigrants from rural areas to bigger cities or other countries, since limited job opportunities drove individuals to consider migration a solution. We identified the need to enhance employability and a sense of entrepreneurship among local adults (30-40 years old) and unemployed immigrants. Through this project, we aimed to provide the necessary skills and support to improve their employability and foster an entrepreneurial mindset. By empowering individuals we aimed to help them create sustainable employment opportunities locally, reducing the incentive to migrate in search of better economic prospects. Another need to address was the inclusion of unemployed migrants excluded from civil society. Through this project, we provided support, training, and opportunities for them to become active members of society. With experiences in slow tourism and entrepreneurship training the partners saw the opportunity to combine their strengths and develop effective strategies and best practices to address the identified needs.
