Objectives

On 31/8/2018 Eurostat statistics of youth unemployment under 25 unemployed in the EU was 3,325,000.The general unemployment rate in Europe, went from 11.4 in 2013 to 7.5 in 2020, while the youth unemployment rate in the EU, in August 2020 was 17.6%. Eleven Member States had a youth unemployment rate above 20%, while such countries as Greece, Portugal, Italy, and Romania rate was even higher than 30%. Such statistical results confirmed an important message that young people were the most penalized. Schools have low capacity of curriculums and network support for youth in order to help them to improve entrepreneurship skills, Europe still has various obstacles which creates many difficulties for youth to have more opportunities to be employed or self-employed. The pandemic (COVID-19) period also showed a negative response towards youth as NEET rates increased and youth were more keen to move abroad and try to start their business, like in the United states, because of higher numbers of venture capitalists who invest much more in youth start-ups. By addressing these potential risks and challenges our project aimed to support lifelong learning, training development, and the improvement of personal and professional skills among young people in Europe, all of which are closely aligned with the general objectives of the Erasmus+ program. In particular, it aimed to foster innovation, fortify European identity, and encourage active citizenship while supporting social cohesion, sustainable growth, and high-quality jobs. The project also aimed to: promote youth entrepreneurship, facilitate knowledge and resource sharing;support start-up growth through crowdfunding; enhance access to Venture capital and leverage State Investments and Support. Main project objectives were: O1) foster intercultural dialogue and learning and European identity (through the informal exchange of information and intercultural evenings); O2) develop the skills and attitudes of young people (soft and hard skills necessary to create a business); O3) strengthen European values and break down prejudices and stereotypes.
