This Erasmus+ ‘’Migration and Youth work’’ project aimed at raising awareness about discriminative actions towards migrants, promoting a positive approach towards young migrants, especially refugees and asylum seekers, and contributing to creating more inclusive education for all. It was designed to address the following challenges & needs: - Violence and conflict that people face daily due to their social/cultural/ethnic background - Lack of awareness on coaching, empathic communication and conflict resolution methodologies among young people - Fewer initiatives are being taken for migration issues - Hate speech - Covid-19’s particular impact on refugees/asylum seekers and migrants - Lack of opportunities to build up partnerships and exchange ideas with organizations experienced in the field - Lack of efficient youth work and transnational cooperation among youth organizations - Less knowledge of international human rights law. Youth workers who work in the field with young people with migration background were involved in order to be trained by providing them with empathic communication & coaching instruments to fight against hate speech and discrimination, to discuss migration issues in conflicted regions, and enabling them to improve peacebuilding attitudes and skills through the activities. We aimed to encourage youth workers with the skills and knowledge acquired from the TC to apply on local level and in their work in order to boost the integration of young migrants, refugees, IDPs and asylum seekers.
