Objectives

The project "Sport for Rights" aimed to utilize the universal language of sports to promote human rights and social inclusion among youth. Initiated by "Together Luxembourg," the project focused on empowering young people, particularly those facing social and geographical barriers, by engaging them in sports activities that fostered respect, cooperation, and a deeper understanding of human rights. The objectives were to enhance personal and social awareness, promote non-formal education, and encourage active community participation through organized sports initiatives. The project activities were divided into two main events. The preparatory visit took place in Oujda, Morocco on March 11-12, 2023, which laid the groundwork for the main meeting, allowing project coordinators and youth leaders to finalize the schedule, organizational questions and logistical arrangements. The youth exchange was implemented in Fes, Morocco from October 9-16, 2023. This full-group event brought together participants from various backgrounds to engage directly in the designed activities, fostering intercultural dialogue and cooperation. Throughout the project, participants were involved in workshops, sports activities, and discussions that highlighted the role of sports in promoting social inclusion and understanding human rights. Our project not only enhanced the participants' awareness and skills but also aimed to instill ongoing engagement with human rights issues within their local communities.
