The project’s main goal was to promote the quality of staff and coaching. The planned activities equipped youth workers and partner organizations with the necessary tools and competences to come up with creative and innovative solutions to promote physical activity as a tool for a healthy life. Other specific objectives: To improve youth workers competences related to vigorous-intensity physical activity, while providing them pedagogic tools for a greater dissemination of their knowledge in their local communities and at an international level; To encourage healthy lifestyle among young people based on a vigorous-intensity physical activity; To promote conscious and responsible physical activity among young people, through exercises and tips aiming to avoid injuries; to promote the positive values of sport among young people, namely those related to excellence, friendship and respect. The idea behind these two last objectives is to encourage a safe vigorous-intensity physical activity within a frame of honorable values which should be translated to everyday life; To enhance active citizenship via the promotion of solidarity and tolerance among participants in order to foster social cohesion in the European Union;
Firstly, our partners found that during the exchanges they took part, young people often discuss the benefits of sports and healthy lifestyles. Secondly, in their free time during these exchanges, young people engage in sports activities and a couple of them try different sports for the first time during these projects. Thirdly, and due to this demand from young people, our partners felt the need for better training in order to acquire tools that can be useful in responding to this issue. In this sense, this project had the presence of youth, youth workers, young leaders, physical trainers, and coordinators. The dialogue between young people, organizations, and more specialized people allowed us to build and test tools that improve the quality of life of young people and that have been multiplied in the various countries of origin. Fourthly, over the years we have noticed that young people are increasingly opting for professions that require many hours in a sitting or static position. These professions can health risks that can be avoided or combated with daily physical activity. Fifthly, young people's individual way of doing sports lacks a proper training follow-up and it can lead to provoke some injuries.
