Improve member counselling skills and techniques when working with different target groups, incl. to improve the professional skills of career guidance specialists to provide appropriate and needs-oriented support to clients with fewer opportunities - with a socially disadvantaged situation, persons with disabilities, prisoners, the unemployed, etc. To develop the internationalization of LKAAA as an organization - to be a recognizable and reliable organization for international partners for further cooperation.

Background

Latvian Career Development Support Association (hereinafter - LKAAA) within 14 years of activity united more than 120 professionals such as career support specialists, career counsellors and educators, lecturers, psychologists, and social workers that daily work with clients to support them on the career-building path. LKAAA unites professionals from the field by organising regular experience exchange activities, seminars, conferences, online and in-person meetings, invites other professionals to share their experiences, etc. This project's aim is to give additional opportunities to the LKAAA's professionals to learn new and relevant competencies through international learning and exchange with other professionals from other countries. The competencies that were learnt are necessary to provide quality support to the clients (scholars, students, persons with disabilities, unemployed persons, prisoners, and others), improve the competitiveness of the professionals, and broaden the methodologies and techniques used with clients. The partner organisation was chosen based on their experience of providing training that is relevant to LKAAA members' field of activity.
