Objectives

The project’s first goal was to promote the emotional well-being of students and teachers and a positive microclimate in the school, using projects and diverse methods in school and extracurricular activities. We planned professional development courses for teachers, in which teachers can gain new international experience, how to make the educational process more effective by creating an inclusive environment in the school. The professional development courses were chosen in such a way that they cover a sufficiently wide range of topics, with the main emphasis on the well-being of teachers, and that the teachers who attended the courses represented different subjects and age groups of learners. The project’s second goal was to bring the European dimension to the school, expanding the international cooperation experience of teachers, to encourage the creation of new projects in the near future. The tasks of the pedagogical improvement courses were: * improve professionally, incl. improving foreign language skills; * give an opportunity to learn new international experiences, work together, sharing thoughts and experiences with other European teachers; * make new acquaintances, and create ideas for further school cooperation.

Background

After the Covid 19 pandemic, teachers felt burnt out and had signs of depression, because they had to work a lot on mitigating the psycho-emotional and mental consequences of the pandemic and providing individual support to students in the learning process. The need to support and encourage teachers, to "take" them out of their usual environment, to involve them in international activities in order to raise their self-confidence, and improve their professional and language skills, thus encouraging them to get involved or start new international cooperation projects (including on the eTwinning platform) was especially highlighted. Analysing the most pressing needs for the continuing education of teachers, the following priorities were put forward: 1) new, modern methods in classroom management and teaching subjects; 2) positive microclimate in the school, the well-being of students and teachers, social inclusion; 3) learning teaching methods based on practice and personal experience; 4) acquisition of new experiences, European dimension in school work (international experience, projects as motivation for teachers' and students' activities), improvement of foreign language knowledge.
