The main thing what we wanted to achieve by implementing this project, was to contribute to the promotion of sustainability issues in local communities in the participating countries by changing participants’ habits (improving recycling, minimizing consumerist behaviour, promoting environmental issues in social networks etc.) towards more sustainable side and taking part in local activities, such as planting trees, cleaning parks, signing petitions, etc. We planned to achieve long lasting multiplying effect as participants continue to promote sustainable mindset among people around them by their own examples. Afterwards we wanted to empower participants to take action in their communities and engage in a dialogue with local companies, institutions and NGOs, by preparing local events to raise awareness on specific environmental issues and the importance of transectorial cooperation. The aim of the project was to promote sustainable habits by engaging young participants in active citizenship to help fighting environmental issues within their communities. Project objectives: 1. Exchanging information about environmental situation and active citizenship in participating countries to share good practice in promoting sustainability. 2. Raising awareness among all participants about the short and long-term impact of pollution and waste on health and communities and the importance of personal example and involvement to help make a change. 3. Promoting sustainable lifestyle and habits among youngsters. 4. Empowering participants to take action within their communities, by bringing together (at least 5) relevant local institutions, companies and NGOs that can cooperate and find solutions to combat local environmental issues.
