Through our Youth Exchange project, we aimed to introduce orienteering sport, which is not yet a very popular sport among young people in Malta and the project's partner countries. We informed them about what orienteering is, let them try it on practice and showed what benefits this sport can bring to their daily lives. We were able to improve their sense of teamwork and competition and engrave the motto "who lives healthy, thinks healthy". Also, participants gained mental abilities that will help them to solve the problems they may face in their business, education, and social lives. In the end, participants were capable of improving their life quality, by integrating sport into their daily lives. During the project, we met with all the participants every night to evaluate the daily activities and the project. We did this activity not only for evaluation but also to let participants have an impact on the project, take responsibility and feel as an active part of the project. Our project had a schedule that attached importance to the introduction of different cultures and increment of cultural awareness and tolerance. For this reason, every country was given one night for each to introduce their culture instead of only one night in total for all the cultures. Our project had a schedule in which participants could express their ideas and opinions freely and socialize easily. It encouraged them to be respectful and tolerant towards differences and let them discover new cultures. The Aims of Our Project was -To be as knowledgeable as to be able to inform a person, who has no information about orienteering sport, in basic level, -To improve the abilities such as developing empathy and group work, -To learn how to organize an orienteering activity at home, -To understand the importance of teamwork to succeed, -To improve the ability to express ideas and public speaking through the discussions and presentations we will have, -To let them improve their ability to analyze themselves by giving them an opportunity to discover their own learning processes, -To enable young people with fewer opportunities to be respected and active citizens who do useful things for their societies, -To have them understand the fact that learning is not something one-sided that is based on taking only but both on taking and giving, -To be able to make a project application and benefit from the opportunities of Erasmus+, -To encourage to be respectful and tolerant towards cultural differences.
